We feel led by God to reach out to lost and un-churched people who are seeking help with life’s many challenges. We have found that a personal relationship with Jesus Christ is the ultimate answer and want to share our testimonies with others through fellowship, prayer and practical help whenever possible.
God has also placed a burden on our hearts for youth who are not being taught the love of Jesus Christ and His desire to be a part of their lives.
If you are seeking a warm and friendly place to worship and serve God and fellowship with other Christians, you are welcome to join us at Thousand Hills!
Thousand Hills Church is a member of the global body of Christ, while we partner with like-minded believers in the Southern Baptist Convention. The 2000 Baptist Faith and Message provides a comprehensive statement of our doctrinal positions. The following outlines our essential beliefs.
The triune God reveals Himself to us as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, with distinct personal attributes, but without division of nature, essence, or being.
God the Father is a member of the Godhead coequal with the Son and Holy Spirit. He reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all-wise. God is Father in truth to those who become children of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the Son of God
Jesus Christ is a member of the Godhead coequal with the Father and Holy Spirit. Through his sinless life, substitutionary death, triumphant resurrection and heavenly ascension, there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved. He advocates and interecedes on our behalf before the Father.
The Spirit of God Indwells Believers
The Holy Spirit is a member of the Godhead coequal to the Father and Son. He empowers the Church’s Gospel witness, convicts humanity of their sinful state and need for Jesus, guides believers into truth, and equips the body of Christ with spiritual gifts for mutual edification.
The Bible is God’s Word
The Holy Bible is the authoritative source for faith and conduct. It is totally true and trustworthy. The Bible continues to speak to us today through the illumination of the Holy Spirit.
God created people in his own image. He created us male and female as the crowning work of His creation. By free choice, though, humanity rebelled against God, which marred the human race with sin. Sin causes many problems, the worst of which is separation from God.
In light of the problem of sin, humanity is in dire need of salvation. Thankfully, Jesus desires to save all who will accept his free gift of salvation, accomplished through his death and resurrection, by grace through faith apart from any human effort. Jesus’ salvation reconciles humanity with God. Eternal life begins the moment Jesus becomes a person’s Lord and Savior.
After salvation, Jesus instructs believers to be baptized by complete immersion in water. This act symbolizes the death, burial and resurrection of Christ.
